Felipe Antonio's Music

Felipe Antonio is a versatile guitarist, composer and educator from São Paulo, Brazil. He plays Brazilian jazz, swing, funk, rock, fusion and a lot more! He  currently  resides in New Orleans, LA (USA). 
 

Felipe has his own solo career as "Felipe Antonio" and also performs with a large group of musicians not only in the New Orleans area but around the country as well. He has co-founded several bands as well, such as, "Block St. Hot Club" and "Quarantina Band" in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Felipe Antonio started playing guitar at a young age back in Brazil so he has grown up highly influenced by Brazilian music as well as blues, jazz , rock,  classic rock,  classical, funk, fusion and more. Eventually, he moved to the U.S where he studied jazz guitar performance. He pursued a Bachelor of Music in guitar performance, a Master of Music in guitar performance and a Graduate Certificate in guitar performance at the University of Arkansas. During his Master's he was also teaching guitar to undergraduate students. Check some of his collaborations with the University of Arkansas Big Jazz Band ( UARK Jazz Lab) in the video section. 

Eventually he moved to New Orleans where you are currently most likely to find Felipe playing with his own group: "Felipe Antonio's Quartet" or performing with other groups such as "Cristina Kaminis" or "The Villains"  in the music venues around Frenchmen st. or the French Quarter as well as in music festivals in and around New Orleans, such as at JazzFest! 

Felipe also teaches online and one-one private guitar, guitar jazz improvisation, music theory, composition and more. Contact for more information on music lessons! Serious inquiries only. He works with a limited amount of students. He spends most of his time playing shows after all! He holds lessons not only in English, but in Portuguese and Spanish as well.
